How well did Russia start this year? Despite long public holidays Russia's performance this month was good enough:



The industrial production index rose by 3.4% compared to January 2018, according to Institute of Natural Monopolies Research (IPEM).

Energy consumption rose by 1.3% in January due to the production increase and joining Yakutia's vast power districts to the Unified Energy System of Russia. The main part of this increase was covered by Russian Atomic Power Stations, whose output rose by 14.8%. The Balakovskaya Nuclear Power Plant in the Saratov region alone produced 117% of the Plant output, thus getting an extra 800 million rubles.



Energy production rose by 2.8% throughout the country.
